Professional Background
Christy Prophete, MFT holds a Bachelor of science in Family, Youth, & Community Sciences from the University of Florida and a Masters of science in Marriage and Family Therapy from NOVA Southeastern University. Christy has over 15 years of experience working in the mental health field. Christy is informed in evidenced based practices including Cognitive-behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. Christy has experience in several therapy approaches including individual, family, & group therapy and in-depth biopsychosocial assessments. Christy is an Associate Project Facilitator who works with the START Therapeutic Coaching team to train new team members of the START network the fundamentals of STC and ways to put them into practice as they serve the families we support. Christy is interested in establishing a unique avenue to teach concepts of leadership based on positive psychology theories. Christy continues to build such curriculum through example, practices, and written proposal. Christy enjoys writing, painting, and aquatic activities.
