Promising Results from Colorado Demonstration Project

This modest demonstration project provided a vehicle for hope and success in rural Colorado. In 7 months, they were very successful in applying START practices despite limited resources.  45 people received services, two of their coordinators received certification and claims data found significant cost savings associated with reduction of emergency service and hospital service use. Applying START rigorous evidence based diagnostic and crisis intervention practices along with promotion of PERMA (emotional well-being) made a difference in a short period of time. The team is hoping to grow their program in the next year to expand services to other parts of Colorado.
