START Program Locations

NCSS provides ongoing, in-person, and virtual support in the form of START model tools, training, strategic planning, consultation, and technical assistance to START programs over a three to four-year implementation of the START model. This support occurs at all phases of implementation.

Map Definitions 

 

State has at least one Certified START Program: The state (or part of the state) has at least one START program that is certified by NCSS to offer full crisis prevention and intervention and systems linkage services to persons with IDD-MH and their families.

State has at least one START Program: The state (or part of the state) offers full crisis prevention and intervention and systems linkage services to persons with IDD-MH and their families and is seeking certification from NCSS. 

Services Based on START Model: The state (or part of the state) offers some cross-systems crisis prevention and intervention services to persons with IDD-MH and their families that reflect the values of the START model but is not seeking program certification from NCSS. 

START Network Partner: The state (or part of the state) is partnering with NCSS to provide training, education, or system evaluation services to professionals who work in IDD-MH.
