This presentation will look at the topic of relationships as they pertain to people with intellectual & developmental disabilities (IDD). People with IDD living fully adult lives is still a rarity and this has a direct impact on their mental wellness. This presentation will look at the benefits of sexual relationships, some of the commonly held fears about them, and the impact these fears have in the lives of people with IDD.

Dave is the Director of Clinical and Educational Supports for Vita Community Living Services. He has worked in service to people with disabilities for over forty years. Dave has given lectures at an international level and he has published over thirty books and nearly a hundred papers. His work has been called groundbreaking and innovative. He has been inducted into the Canadian Disability Hall of Fame and won the Inspire Lifetime Achievement award given out by the LGBT community in Toronto.
